🔹 Apa (What)


Seminar proposal, seminar hasil, dan seminar tesis adalah tiga tahapan penting dalam proses penyelesaian skripsi/tesis mahasiswa. Seminar proposal berfokus pada rancangan penelitian yang diajukan, seminar hasil menekankan pada temuan penelitian, sedangkan seminar tesis merupakan ujian akhir yang menilai keseluruhan karya ilmiah (Kusumawati & Lestari, 2021). Ketiga tahap ini tidak hanya menilai isi akademis, tetapi juga kemampuan komunikasi ilmiah mahasiswa.


🔹 Siapa (Who)


Peserta utama adalah mahasiswa tingkat akhir (S1/S2/S3), dosen pembimbing, dan penguji. Seminar ini juga sering dihadiri mahasiswa lain untuk menambah wawasan (Suryani & Hartati, 2022). Dosen berperan memberikan masukan, kritik, serta evaluasi agar penelitian mahasiswa dapat lebih berkualitas.


🔹 Kapan (When)


Seminar proposal dilaksanakan setelah rancangan penelitian disusun. Seminar hasil dilakukan ketika penelitian lapangan atau analisis data selesai. Seminar tesis menjadi tahap akhir sebelum mahasiswa dinyatakan lulus (Putri & Santoso, 2023). Jadwal biasanya ditentukan fakultas, mengikuti kalender akademik.


🔹 Di mana (Where)


Pelaksanaan seminar biasanya di ruang kelas, auditorium, atau secara daring melalui platform online (Zoom, Google Meet). Perguruan tinggi menyesuaikan dengan kondisi, terutama sejak pandemi COVID-19 yang mendorong seminar daring lebih sering dilakukan (Rahman & Wulandari, 2021).


🔹 Mengapa (Why)


Tujuan utama seminar adalah menilai kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menyusun, melaksanakan, dan mempertanggungjawabkan penelitian ilmiah. Seminar proposal memastikan topik layak diteliti, seminar hasil memastikan data valid dan analisis tepat, sedangkan seminar tesis menguji orisinalitas dan kontribusi penelitian (Saputra, 2022). Selain itu, seminar melatih mahasiswa menghadapi kritik ilmiah.


🔹 Bagaimana (How)


Mahasiswa mempresentasikan materi dengan bantuan slide PowerPoint, menyampaikan metodologi, hasil, dan kesimpulan penelitian. Dosen penguji memberikan pertanyaan dan kritik, lalu mahasiswa menanggapi dengan argumentasi ilmiah (Utami & Prakoso, 2020). Keberhasilan ditentukan dari kejelasan argumen, penguasaan teori, dan kualitas penelitian.


📊 Jenis dan Contoh


1. Seminar Proposal

Jenis: Presentasi rancangan penelitian.

Contoh: Mahasiswa Akuntansi mengajukan penelitian tentang pengaruh literasi keuangan terhadap minat investasi mahasiswa.


2. Seminar Hasil

Jenis: Laporan temuan penelitian.

Contoh: Mahasiswa Kesehatan menyajikan hasil survei tentang efektivitas kampanye kesehatan di masyarakat.


3. Seminar Tesis/Skripsi

Jenis: Ujian akhir karya ilmiah.

Contoh: Mahasiswa Hukum mempertahankan tesis tentang efektivitas restorative justice dalam kasus anak.

✅ Keunggulan

1. Melatih mahasiswa berpikir kritis dan argumentatif (Kusumawati & Lestari, 2021).

2. Memberi ruang evaluasi dari dosen dan rekan mahasiswa.

3. Meningkatkan kualitas penelitian sebelum dipublikasikan.

4. Menjadi bekal menghadapi forum akademik lebih besar, seperti konferensi (Suryani & Hartati, 2022).

⚠️ Kekurangan

1. Kadang lebih fokus pada formalitas, bukan substansi.

2. Mahasiswa bisa merasa tertekan karena faktor psikologis (Putri & Santoso, 2023).

3. Waktu terbatas, sehingga diskusi kurang mendalam.

4. Belum semua dosen penguji memiliki standar penilaian yang seragam (Rahman & Wulandari, 2021).
